Wow! I have a blogspot...I've been so obsessive about everyone else's blogs that I've decided to start my own. Topic of discourse today is future. For me FUTURE=SCARY. I've developed into a "right now" person. For me, life "right now" is good. Life in the future seems pretty scary. There's all those scary things like CAREER, BILLS, OLD, and worst of all MARRIAGE. I guess there are the parallel good things like STABILITY, MONEY, KNOWLEDGE, and CHILDREN. But going there would make me optimistic. I always get depressed after I'm too optimistic. It's amazing how often you can find yourself pleasently surprised when you're a pesimist. I think my problem lies in the fact that I have surrounded myself with people who are wishing their lives away. Everyone I know just can't wait for something...a wedding...this summer...the real world. This has caused me to rebel against this "can't wait" behavior and develop the "right now" attitude that I am preaching here. (Before we go any further, I have a confession. I am the most judgemental person I have ever met. It is true. Anything you do, say, or think I will judge. It's my worst trait, but it keeps me sane and in perspective. This confession will allow for the rest of my all-to-long-and-boring-first-blog to make more sense. ) I think all these "can't-waiters" I know are wishing their lives away because they are unhappy with their current state. Harsh? yes. Truth? I believe it. Maybe I'm wrong. For their sakes, I hope so. There is nothing worse than being unhappy with your life or yourself. We've all been there. I believe that this is enough for a first blog. Don't worry, she has a very lovely life.
